Everything you need for your visit to

La Villa Reyes & La Villa Marisol

  • Directions

Getting to Playa Las Tortugas from Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara is not difficult. And finding La Villa Reyes once you get here is simple. Just follow our instructions below! The last 9 kilometers of road are flat and can be navigated with a normal car, but is quite bumpy, so please be patient and allow 30 minutes for this part of your trip.

  • Checking-in

Check-in is at 3 p.m. When you arrive at the Playa Las Tortugas gate please provide your name to security. They will direct you to the house and Maria will meet you at the house, unless we make other arrangements together such as if you are arriving at night.

  • Personal Chef

About 1/2 of our guests choose the chef service. It’s wonderful! The cost is US $25 per person for dinner, and $15 per person for breakfast. Maria is our chef.

  • Groceries

20 minutes from the Puerto Vallarta Airport are two large grocery stores, La Comer and Mega. Here are the Google directions. There is also a simple grocery store in Zacualpan that you will pass right in front of. It’s much more modest but that is also its charm if you would like to shop like a local where no tourists go.

  • Order food for delivery

You can order dinner or lunch from King Kong restaurant in neighboring Platanitos. It’s owned by the family of our caretaker, Maria. They will bring it over by boat or motorcycle! Delicious!

  • Water

We have a drinking water service so several 5 gallon jugs will be available for your use. No need to bring your own bottled water.

We provide large glass bottles that you can fill and place in the refrigerator to ensure you have cool drinking water.

  • Internet

We have Starlink internet from SpaceX which provides excellent high-speed internet. From the listing of wifi networks on your device, select “La Villa Reyes” or “La Villa Marisol”, then enter the password “41Tortugas!”.

  • How to get Pesos

The best way to get pesos is at the ATMs at the Puerto Vallarta Airport. There is a bank of ATMs right when you exit customs. Make sure to DECLINE the "we’ll convert for you at X rate" message, in order to get the fair exchange rate.

  • Fun things

Here is a brief list of some of our favorite things to do here in Playa Las Tortugas.

  • Kayaking

Kayaking in the estuary is wonderful. You can take an easy paddle near the entry point or go on a 2 hour adventure deep into the mangroves, which is amazing. Ask Mario how to rent kayaks.

  • Cascahuin Tequila

We have a limited supply of delicious artisanal tequila from Cascahuin. We also have traditional “copitas” to drink from so you can savor the smells of agave. This tequila is too good for a shot glass! We offer blanco, reposado and añejo.

  • Microbrews

We bring in cases of our favorite Puerto Vallarta beer straight from their brewery. We think Los Muertos fits the Playa Las Tortuas vibe.

  • Things to be aware of

We want your trip to Playa Las Tortugas to be enjoyable, which means keeping an eye out for things like…falling coconuts.

  • Transportation

Our caretaker Mario has a transportation business. He can take care of getting you to/from the airport, or anywhere else you wish to go.

  • Beach bonfire

A beach bonfire at night is a great way to end an evening in Playa Las Tortugas. Just let Mario know you would like one and he will arrange the wood on the beach for you. It’s usually good to bring some extra paper and other small dried bits of small twigs with you as the wood always seems to absorb ocean humidity and is slow to get going.

  • Recycling, Compost & Trash

Maria will take care of disposing of recycling, compost and garbage. Just leave it in the appropriate cans in the kitchen and she will clear it each day.

  • Towels & Sheets

We provide high-quality bath and beach towels, as well as wonderfully soft sheets. No need to worry!

  • Beach gear

We provide beach chairs, beach umbrellas, beach towels, boogie boards and a beach cart for your use.

  • Check-out

So sad to see you leave! Checkout is at 11 AM. Please just tidy up and leave the key on the counter. That’s it! Have a safe journey back home.
